This is a ticketed event - Included are a light lunch and two mushroom logs to take with you to grow at home. This will be an indoor/outdoor all-weather event.

Are you interested in learning how to grow mushrooms and maybe incorporate them into your garden? Join us April 27 at 10am to learn how!

Get started with a couple mushrooms logs of your own, while learning how to grow more in your backyard garden. Tim Owen from Growen Food has been cultivating mushrooms as part of his small-scale produce farm since 2017 and he wants to share his passion for growing food with you. This year, he is teaching how to grow TWO different fungi species!

Switching it up, this workshop focuses on the Lions Mane (Hericium Erinaceus) and Oyster (pleurotus ostreatus) mushroom species. If you’ve attended previous classes with Growen, inoculating shiitake, this will offer a different opportunity in mushroom growing.

This hands-on class takes place rain or shine. The event fee includes the day’s use of all materials to create two logs of your own, including spawn, log, wax and tools, and one ticket is required for each participant. Be sure to dress for the weather and bring work gloves if you’d like.

A certified forager, Tim is also happy to take questions about other forms of mushroom cultivation as well as the wild mushrooms growing in our local region.
